Bring On 2015!!

The Year 2 teachers are very much looking forward to our inquiry with our new students who are starting on Monday. The children have already had very exciting hand overs from last year's Year 2s and are looking forward to learning all about our garden. Bring on 2015!!

Handing over the gardens to Year 1 students

Yesterday we invited Room 4 to come to Room 9 so we could talk to them about all the things we have been doing this year in our gardens and what we have learnt.  Then we all went out to the garden and helped pull out the old vegetables to make way for new planting next year.  The Year 1's are very excited about gardening!

Harvesting for shared lunch

Room 9' s job for the shared lunch was to harvest and cook the kale.  We picked lots of kale leaves, washed them carefully, and then everyone had a turn at taking the stalks out and tearing the leaves into small pieces.  Then we put the kale on trays with oil and baked them in the oven - kale chips - yum!

We are very excited about our shared lunch today. We harvested our beans this morning just before it started to rain. Lucky us! There were heaps and heaps of beans in the vege beds. Mmm!! It's going to be a yummy shared lunch. Can't wait!!
